But then I started studying Hebrew, and one year I was with a tour group and Jerusalem shortly after things (like buses) started blowing up And most tourists had canceled but not our intrepid little group. Standing at the Western Wall during a holiday, I was trying to converse with a little bubbe (abuelita) but kept lapsing into Spanish. When she finally got the gist of what I was saying, she threw up her hands and said Alabado sea Dios which roughly translated means Baruch HaShem.
