AN ANCIENT AIR by Bradley K. Rosen
They say the air is older in Italy
than it is in America.
They say the cotton ball clouds and the rolling vineyards and farmlands
and the sun’s warm light have been around for an ocean’s eon, since the day
before Jesus rolled the rock. I know this romantic idea of an older air
is certainly a scientifically ridiculous one, yet, when you are there, in Italia, the idea that
the air is older somehow seems plausible, seems more I do believe in fairies.
[Bradley K Rosen grew up in Claremont, California. In 1992 he migrated to Oregon and now lives in Portland, where he has lived since 1998. He has two sons. His first novel, The Bunkie Spills, is in its final stages.]
